The 30T is the first of Cordoba’s 30 series, a premium line of boutique, all-solid tenor ukuleles approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or “Spanish Heel” instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the ukulele. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the ukulele ages. Cordoba collaborated with renowned luthier Pepe Romero Jr. on the 30 series, adopting Romero’s vision of building ukuleles as if they are small guitars using traditional Spanish building methods. The designs were cut from one piece by folding fabric in the same way that you would fold paper to cut snowflakes and were based on the many plants that surrounded them. Luna has chosen the KALO (taro plant) as inspiration because this plant was a sacred and an essential part of early hawaiian life.

It is Australian blackwood and is a very fine tone wood. The uke necks are made from seasoned mahogany, for strength, and have a rosewood fretboard with accurate fret placement. The bridges are also rosewood.

This is the new Mahogany Tenor acoustic/electric model from Kanilea's Islander. It features a slightly smaller body size than most tenors but a full 17" tenor scale. The pickup is a a quarter inch plugin and onboard control with a three band eq/volume as well as a digital tuner which works very well. This is quite a handy feature, especially if you can loose a clip on tuner like I can. The pickup system is active with two coin cell batteries that can easily be changed wit a pop out release mounted at the end jack. The sound of this pickup is great! We're impressed with it's power and feed back resistance. The tone is evenly balanced and after our setup system this uke plays easily and is a great ukulele to learn on. Sealed geared tuner and premium AQUILA STRINGS on this latest model from Kanile`a.
